Membership?
How
do you become a member of the Midwest Antiquarian Booksellers Association,
(MWABA), formerly known as Midwest Bookhunters?
The
Midwest Antiquarian Booksellers Association, (MWABA) welcomes
new members, but there is an application procedure.
You
must be located in the Midwestern states, and be recommended by
three current members of our organization who are somewhat familiar
with your business. You may check our Online
Membership Directory to find the names of our member/dealers.
Because
the Board of MWABA only meets twice a year, the membership process
sometimes takes a while to complete. In order to receive the benefits
of membership, which include discounted booth fees and priority
preference for member/exhibitors at our book fairs, submit your
membership application as soon as possible.
For
complete details, and to request a membership application, please

Frequently
Asked Question How
much is my old book is worth?
Many different
factors must be taken into account when appraising books. Edition
is most important, but the presence or absence of a dust jacket
is very important and also greatly affects the value of a book,
as does the overall book condition.Very special or unique bindings,
regardless of edition, are sometimes collectible. It is generally
impossible to determine rarity or actual value of any item via email
inquiry. In most cases it is necessary to see the actual book in
order to make a valid assessment.
The Midwest
Antiquarian Booksellers Association, (MWABA) is a non-profit
organization of book dealers, and, as such, does not appraise, buy,
or sell books, however many of our members would be qualified to
assist you with your book needs.
Many of our
members are qualified to do appraisals. Should you wish to contact
one of them regarding your books, please search our Online
Membership Directory or click on the 'DIRECTORY' link in the
navigation bar on the left. Our members are located primarily in
the Midwestern states.
